The mission of the KEENAGERS is to offer friendship and loving
support to one another, and to demonstrate the love of Jesus by
outreach to senior adults, both inside and outside the church.
Anyone who is 55 years of age or older is eligible to be a
member.
What We Do
KEENAGERS meet monthly in the church fellowship hall on the 2nd
Friday of each month, except for July and August when there are
no meetings.
December is our traditional Christmas party at Friendly Farms
Restaurant in Upperco. Any schedule changes will be published in
the Sunday church bulletins.
A typical meeting consists of lunch at 11:30 am, followed by a
short business meeting. Most months there is a program which may
include a speaker, special music, video or other activities of
interest. Some months we bring our own sandwiches, along with
something extra to share with the group. Covered dish luncheons
are held often and are always popular.
Occasional day trips to historic sites, dinner theaters or the
like are usually taken via carpools, but luxury coaches are
rented for longer trips. A newly purchased 15 passenger van
may also be available.
Monthly dues of $2 are collected at each meeting to underwrite
the costs of our ministry to the sick or bereaved. Occasionally
collections are also taken for special projects.
Upcoming Events
Thursday, Nov. 2, the Keenagers will take a scenic ride to Shepherdstown,
West Virginia, to enjoy a German style luncheon at the historic BAVARIAN
INN. Prior to our trip, a brief business meeting will be held in the
church sanctuary at 10am.

menu and pricing. Deadline for this trip is Sunday, Oct. 29.
Transportation will be by church vans and carpools.
Friday, December 8 is our traditional Christmas luncheon and party at
FRIENDLY FARMS in Upperco, MD. As part of our party there will be a gift
exchange game with a $5 limit, with a man buying a gift for a man and a
woman for a woman. Cost of the family style luncheon is $16.25, all
inclusive. Meet at church at 10:45am for arranging church van and
carpool transportation.
December 15, Friday - A bonus trip is available to attend the annual
organ concert at ST. MATTHEW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Hanover, PA. Time of the
concert is 10:30 til 12 noon. Cost is $4.00 admission. Meet at Elders
Church by 9:15am to arrange transportation. Lunch plans are to be
announced.
